Why You Should Watch The Power Of The Heart

A few months ago I was fortunate enough to attend the screening of The Power Of The Heart by Baptist de Pape, a film adaption of the book by the same name. This is why it opened my own heart.

The title of the movie speaks for itself, as it’s about how powerful this organ in our body is, and how connected our body and soul is to it. Both the movie and book feature many influential and spiritual leaders, some of my favourites being Maya Angelou, Paulo Coelho and Deepak Chopra. Baptist de Pape brings together these creators to form the key to our hearts.

The Lessons Learnt

Developing your intuition, the power of gratitude and listening to your hearts wisdom, are only a few elements of the what this powerful book and movie has to offer. If you’ve followed my blog for a while now, you’ll know I speak often of the heart and following it, but even I get lost sometimes. Times flies by so fast, it worries me sometimes that I’m not making the most out of it and missing out on opportunities I could have had if I spent it wisely. We’re only human, and we need times like those to trigger us make us realise that we’re changing, growing and that action is needed. In those times, all you need is something to drag you back to yourself and remind you of what you have to offer this world. This movie was just that. It opened my heart again, and made me dig within me to remind myself of my potential and the wisdom that is ready to be shared. The world leaders in this adaption share their wisdom, life lessons and thoughts to wake you up once again, and inspire you to continue on that long journey to inner peace.

The Creators

Other than the three leaders mentioned above, both book and movie contain life lessons from Eckhart Tolle, Neale Donald Walsch, Marci Smihoff, Immaculee Ilibagiza, Gary Zukav, Isabel Allende, etc. Each has their own life story and lesson to share with us, and may we take that lesson and learn from it also.

One speaker that really stood out for me was Mark Nepo. Before the movie, I had never seen nor heard of his name, but his words left the biggest mark on my heart. My favourite quote of his is “The hardest journey in life, is the journey from our head to our heart.” and that just hit my heart right there. In a world where materialism plays a huge roll, to have the power to stick with the heart and not be influenced by the mind of some sort, is incredible and extremely difficult. We’re rather a lazy bunch of creatures and always want the easiest route to succes or happiness, but without the journey we’ll only be just that… creatures. It’s the sacrifices you make, and the choices for that matter too, why doubt when it gives you the opportunity to live your life at its fullest potential. Now that’s a journey I’m willing to make.

“The wisdom of the heart will see the power and the beauty and the opportunity of every moment that you live and cherish each one.” – Gary Zukav.
